Value of Beauty (Individual Entry II)

1:1.618

This is said to be beauty's golden ratio. It represents the value of the ideal measurements one's feature must have in order to be considered attractive, or beautiful.

A documentary presented in class discussed of the various bodily proportions an individual should have with concern to beauty. It includes the ratio of the nose with the cheek's width. Another example would be the height and the width of the two front center teeth, as well as the widths of the center tooth and second tooth. This proportionality was used in determining the perfectness and attractiveness of one's characteristic.

In order to make measuring easier, a certain golden mean gauge was used in determining a model's values.

This tool was set to measure 1:1.618 ratios between two adjacent objects.

The Marquardt Beauty Mask was developed by Dr. Marquardt, hence the name. It was formed with the use of pentagons and decagons, embodying the golden ratio in all dimensions.

An attractive face, beautiful actually, or should I say a perfect one, is something that can be measured with simple ratio and proportion. Or so they say.

Beauty. I never thought beauty is something that science, or mathematics, can measure. It seems amazing how numbers even reach the realm of an individual's attractiveness. The moment I realized what the documentary was about, I was surprised.

For me, beauty is something subjective. It is something that cannot be matched with any value, or any rating. It differs from one person to another.

True, the 1:1.1618 ratio is a measurement concerning physical features. It concerns the individual's external form, his/her face, and the like. It measures the individual's eye-catching rating. This ratio measures how an individual pleases the eye of those around him/her. I'd rather say it is attractiveness, not beauty.

Beauty is something on the inside. It is not measured by cup sizes, by waistlines, or butt sizes. It is something that concerns a person's personality.
