Self-reflection Essay

A Look at Evolution

I selected Intelligent Design because I still wonder why the idea is still so popular among some. As I have said before in my entries, ID is not science. It doesn't have any concrete evidence to support its claim, and again, cannot be tested. For me, the idea is just to wrong. A school is not built to teach concepts no one is sure if true.
The Road to Evolutionary Theory was a memorable topic for me. Well, actually it was the time we spent making the poster. Many LifeSci students were gathered there at the back lobby, all trying to meet the deadline. It was then that I think, we actually did met our would-be classmates for a year. We were all to noisy that time, laughing and making fun of ourselves. So yeah, that I think is why.

In making this portfolio entry, I liked the About Me page. It was actually fun. I went and asked my friends to come up with words starting with the letters of my name. And I did get a lot of different answers which made me laugh. I was able to express a little part of myself in there.

However, I think I could have made a lot better portfolio than this one. That was if I started way earlier. I shouldn't have postponed making this portfolio. The next time, I will work on this requirement piece by piece, and on a much more comfortable pace.
Three of the things I learned in Biology with this entry was how certain people actually react to ID, the Hardy-Weinberg Principle, and more of evolution. I consider evolution to be the most important, for it actually tries to explain our origins, and our relationship with other species. The theory of evolution went through tests of time, and still is here teaching us of how we are connected to each organism on Earth.
Patience, exerting effort, and loving what you do are three things I learned regarding learning. Loving what you do is what really does the trick. Once you learn it, everything will follow. Everything you'll do will be a lot easier.

And for anyone who aspires to make a portfolio entry, learn to manage your time. Never cram. And most of all, enjoy every little time you spend on working, and you'll be having a lot of fun learning. ;)
