Highlights of Learning (II)

Second quarter in LifeSci was more fun, as compared to the last quarter. Additional topics discussed were much interesting.

One of the new things I learned this quarter was about the golden ratio of beauty. 1:1.618. A certain feature's attractiveness is determined by certain proportions such as those of the teeth, and nose to cheek ratios. I never thought of Math engaging in subjects concerning the beauty of a certain individual.

Another thing I learned this quarter was the different factors concerning attraction and relationships. Attraction doesn't only involves great physique and beautiful faces, smell (of course) and voice play a somehow important part in the process.

A lot of activities concerning DNA were done in class towards the end of the quarter. The activity about chromosome sequencing, where we have to connect strips of paper was much fun and exciting. The whole class was able to participate and enjoy.
